Jämtland in the autumn

This past weekend, i visited Östersund to see my cousins, i  visited the cabin in Åre and had dinner with uncle and family in northern Jämtland. I love Jämtland... i love the thin bread, i love the fells and mountains, i love the dark forests, i love my family, i love everything there. I hardly ever get to go there in the autumn, so this was a special weekend.

i've been doing fieldwork these last 3 weeks 

and these are some photos i took of my "office" during breaks.
now i'm back, not only to the internet,
news and civilization, but to my life.. hello!

the sun tried its hardest to shine on me and sofi on our field trip today.

crispy sunny sunday morning by the coast

it should be winter by now.
but it is still autumn.
so out i go into the forest with hot cocoa.
for that combination is balsam for the soul and
one of my favorite things to do in life.
sofi and i were out on an archaeological field trip
and these are some nature pics i took.

it's halloween week..

rainy dark autumn with the smell of newly fallen yellow leaves on
the ground and black birds! woho! every season is worth celebrating.

from light to darkness comes also all the spooky shadows.. and hot cocoa.
i shall list a few of my favorite horror movies here later this week.

still looking good. i was eating a muffin in this park this saturday.
not the best muffin ever, but right there at that very moment
it was the best one ever. everything was alright with the
world in that moment. for a few seconds.
but only almost everything. or far from it. äh!

winter is the most beautiful season.
but oh, autumn is a darling..
i love all the earth colors.
and picking food from the ground!
gathering for the winter.
i didnt pick any blueberries or chanterelles this summer because i was busy,
but the apples make a great jam. for swedish pancakes.

home at weekends.

i am out in the field this september. i wasn't prepared for that really. but autumn makes everything more pretty, right before the leaves fall off.. that's the best time.. i'm happy i get to be outdoors and see it all every day. however it is still late summer in umeå. so i get the best of both. thanks!

these are tough weeks. it's been a couple of though days.. and i get home on weekends. i have a lot of things to do at home, but those will have to wait.. 300 years or so..!
