so there's a new vinyl record store in my hometown, and sister and i took a bike ride there in the sunshine, when i was visiting home a few weeks ago. I was very happy to actually find music that i listen to.. because i rarely ever do.. maybe i havent found a really great record shop yet.. but this one was the best ive ever been to!

"TALES FROM THE BOUT"......!

Instead of going to a halloween party yesterday, i went to a roller derby bout with my friend Eva. It was my home town vs Gothenburg.. "Tales from the bout", halloween themed. AND IT WAS AWESOME. I'M SO IMPRESSED BY THOSE GIRLS. AH MA GAAAAAWD. coolest thing in the world. This was my first time seeing a bout, and i watched from the side, but later we moved down to suicide seat! Can't wait for more bouts!

Ended the saturday with a date with good friend Emily, we had tea and talked for 8 hours nonstop.. until 4.30 in the morning. the early morning stopped us this time, so we decided that next time we meet up we should start talking in the morning..in that way we'll have almost an infinite amount of time to talk. We always need to talk.

saturday rollergirls.

I've always liked roller skating but havent done it much, and hey roller derbys and roller discos are way cool, so i was very happy when my friend Eva said she roller skates. Now i just need the confidence to be on wheels and move at the same time. Eva Rib Cruncher is really good at rollerskating, and i want to be good at something again. As you can see in the pic of me above i was trying out Eva's kit and practicing rolling without falling. And i didnt fall. its like skiing/ice skating and cross country riding all at once..on wheels. Most fabulous roller girls the world has ever seen... i need a roller derby name!

swedish midsummer's eve. the longest day and shortest night.

my sis had a german and a french visiting over midsummer, girls she met in california, so we took them to see the most swedish summer thing there is, and they got to make flowers for their heads. very important. then of course there's photos of a 1860's house and thin bread. cause i love those things (and thin bread is basically my life). tonight i'm going to stay up all night outside and watch the sun set and rise... which it barely does.. it just stays there. it sets at 23.07 and rises at 02.14. this is all important for the place we are in in the world because it is sooo cosy. happy summer solstice!

hello 2013. food, friends and music.

in the city.

i needed to finish this filmroll in my SLR camera, so this is what i did. since this place called Umeå is being rebuilt a lot these days i thought i should catch some of my favorite parts on photos before it all turns into the new Manhattan. if i have to choose favorite parts. this is my home town so i have mixed emotions about it..lol. but it still has it's early 1900's look and i love that. and realized just now that the neon letters in these photos are all red.

where we look for LP's.

sagateatern our oldest movie/theater from 1959.  i've seen some good plays here in recent years, like Richard III and Carl-Einar Häckner, i hope they keep it.

fruktboden. i sometimes bought candy here as a kid with my friends before we went to the movies. candy of the 90's. best candy ever.

filmstaden, our movie theater and the little cute tower with café station and the river behind. a favorite place.

Vasaplan where all the busses gather in town. stood here waiting for the bus in high school. not a fun spot but i've seen some of my favorite bands in Idun in the white building so, yeah.

bågenhusen, built in the 50's.

these pink curved houses (bågenhusen) are the prettiest. i was a little frightened when i was young of the sculpture (green fire, 1970) because, well it was green and weird, but now that i'm older i can appreciate it. and it looks good with the pale pink houses behind it.
