a few days in London...

It was really great to get away from everything in life and just go away for a few days just me and my sister. We've been to London a few times before, done different things, and this time we had a little more time than previous visits. I finally got time to go to the museum to see Sutton Hoo... we didnt have time to see all the things there cuz we arrived late, but i saw Sutton Hoo.. i really like those helmets! We also visited Barbican and walked around it. It looked a bit out of place, and a bit strange haha, but it was cool, and it felt heavy.
We were pretty stoked to see Battersea power station, the fact that it was a construction site at the time we were there wasnt fun but still, its a cool building. We walked a lot all over town, and only took the subway when we had to. That underground is a bit claustrophobic with no oxygen...and why i try to avoid it. Overall, big city air is not good for the skin! I really did miss the fresh scandinavian air! I did bring 135 film and will post the photos when i have found a place here in Norway to develop them.. *updated.

gratitude.

i've been talking a lot about polaroids on this blog. well. they are quite something. it's scary how fast time moves. one of my favorite things is walking past this and seeing all my important and happy moments.. saved.. and knowing those polaroids helped me capture those moments in such a pretty format. and a lot of them are also personal achievements. this is why i named this post gratitude.

a camera: the polaroid impulse af

So far i've only used my grey polaroid 600 from the late 1990's which has been very reliable and worked like a charm for the past 3 years. My newest addition is this one..... not only can a type like this one be spotted somewhere in a certain Twin Peaks episode, it also has a self-timer and autofocus sonar..features that a lot of other polaroids don't have. double win! Its flash is a pop-up, which means it can pop up easily in a bag, so that's a downside. It was released in 1988 and was pretty much the latest polaroid camera around at the time of twin peaks in 1989. So here is my first test shot with it..with slightly expired and x-rayed film, but it works!

thoughts from Capri.

I escaped Naples on my last few hours in Italy,
and took the boat to Capri. there were lemon trees,
orange trees, baby grapes and several colored roses..
it smelled wonderful.
it rained a little,
and i didnt have enough time to explore most of the island,
but that did not matter.

Capri is beautiful, worth another visit.

a few of my polaroids from..

forum & volcano.
the house with the faun and Alexander mosaic.
crossing the street

Visiting this roman city was the purpose of my trip.
and ah. the houses are amazing.
and the artifacts at the museum.. so pretty.
I will post more film as i get it developed.

I've never seen a volcano before, and wow, vesuvius is a little scary.
Like a big shadow over the bay. Gave me the creeps.
Settlements have always been destroyed by its erruptions.
I found myself keeping an eye on it whenever i saw it,
to make sure it was still quiet (!).

moonia polaroids.

today before the sun set at 2 pm.
the light and colors were amazing.
i love winter days like these.
i'm dedicating a whole film pack for this (and surely more than just one)
because, the precious things in life, is what precious film is for!
she's not scared by the loud noice of the
polaroid camera anymore, so i think she agrees.
she kindly said "snap away!"
