Rome

july was a bit too warm for me to be in Rome, but i managed, i dont recommend going there the warmest months of the year.. to escape the heat on the hottest (+33C) days i visited the remains of roman villas under ground which was really great, and not as warm!

a few diana's from Rome..

When i was in Pompeii a few years ago i shot 35 mm film and loved it, this time i decided to bring 120 film cuz i figured that format would suit Rome better than 35 mm. So i brought with me my diana f+ and a new red holga.

a messy diana adventure... my diana camera is my favorite 120 camera and ive always had great results with it... but this trip is the first time it has had issues as seen in the photos below... it was above +30C degrees and it looks like the film melted in a few places..my purse was probably +500 degrees... the film was expired and had also been sitting in the camera for over a year cuz i loaded it up once but never got around to use it. and while i was in the forum, the winding spool was stuck, i had to use force to move the film forward. overall, it was messy and i wasnt sure if i, the film or the camera would make it thru! i dont function well in heat, and i missed the framing every time..until next time...!

had a filmroll of kodak portra 400 in my minolta af zoom 80 camera for 2 years and here are the results..

film from Paris..

the photos are really poor quality cuz i used a different photo lab than the lab i usually use. seriously, the prints are so awful..and the black frames are cropped out too....big no no.... im gonna have to get them printed again. I always use the wide angle lens for the diana camera, its really great. Technical issues aside.... i love Paris.

Paris...

Last week was my first visit to Paris & tho it was work-related i got to spend a whole week with friends, which made it feel more like a holiday really. We didnt think we would have much time at all to go and explore the city but while we were there we got determined to try and see as much as we could. I brought with me my diana camera and some 120 film.. will post those in the future. Paris was great. Big city life for a whole week was a bit too much for this small town girl, air and everything, so it was good to go home, too. but yeah. Paris. wow. Photo booths in every metro station, just to name one thing.

a few days in London...

It was really great to get away from everything in life and just go away for a few days just me and my sister. We've been to London a few times before, done different things, and this time we had a little more time than previous visits. I finally got time to go to the museum to see Sutton Hoo... we didnt have time to see all the things there cuz we arrived late, but i saw Sutton Hoo.. i really like those helmets! We also visited Barbican and walked around it. It looked a bit out of place, and a bit strange haha, but it was cool, and it felt heavy.

We were pretty stoked to see Battersea power station, the fact that it was a construction site at the time we were there wasnt fun but still, its a cool building. We walked a lot all over town, and only took the subway when we had to. That underground is a bit claustrophobic with no oxygen...and why i try to avoid it. Overall, big city air is not good for the skin! I really did miss the fresh scandinavian air! I did bring 135 film and will post the photos when i have found a place here in Norway to develop them.. *updated.
