i went to gotland, because i'm so goth.

{W}ell.. this trip was work-related, and these below are some photos i took. the pretty church ruins are from 1250 a.d. and so goth. i LOVED them. The town Visby is also medieval. I looked at fossils by the sea, 9000 year old skeletons, pretty houses i wish i owned, rare flowers and old graves made by forgotten people who used to live there long ago. but they are not forgotten, i think about them. In other words... a trip about things i like. more photos to come..

digitals from herculaneum, another roman town.

The first thing to greet me when i arrived was the high wall of the volcanic ash (and now modern ground level) Looking down into a dug hole and seeing a town in it, that's a lot of volcanic ash.    what else is hidden down under? i loved it here too. Pompeji probably needs two days of exploring, but i was only here in herculaneum for a few hours in the afternoon and pretty much got to see all of it. it is much much smaller than pompeji but better preserved. oh italy.. why art thou so lovely.
herculaneum cannot be further excavated because there is a modern town on top of it.
the boat houses. seen from inside the volcanic ash. ugh.
