digital photos of my favorite places in pompeji

I hope i'll get a chance to go here again. its def one of my favorite cities in the world. i got to see much of the city but there are still a few places i didn't go to. there's just that many streets. there were some villas i didnt see, some city gates, the necropolis, temples and some of the excavated city blocks, so those would be nice to see. before vesuvius covers it all again. but there is only so much to see in one day, i think it needs at least two or three but i was well prepared to manage one day. it is a  strange feeling being there, because even though the original residents are gone, the city does feel alive with all the tourists walking in their own pace, up and down the streets, in and out of buildings. at the same time its sad because the people who built and lived there made the city very pretty and for them it wasnt supposed to end like that.

my film from pompeji

{I} took so many photos it's impossible to post them all. there are lots of details at every street corner, i discovered things walking up and down the streets, this ancient city really needs to be explored in real life. i will only post this short film below. i'm very happy with how it turned out, i had a feeling it would look something like this, and it did capture what i felt and saw in a clean way. kodak portra 160 nc in my minolta, win win. There is also a good HIM song that mentions pompeji. just sayin.

my film from herculaneum

comparing these with the same photos i took with a good digital camera, these win. that's the reason i throw that little plastic camera with me in my handbag. it captures the colors and light. just what i wanted.
