a camera: the polaroid impulse af

So far i've only used my grey polaroid 600 from the late 1990's which has been very reliable and worked like a charm for the past 3 years. My newest addition is this one..... not only can a type like this one be spotted somewhere in a certain Twin Peaks episode, it also has a self-timer and autofocus sonar..features that a lot of other polaroids don't have. double win! Its flash is a pop-up, which means it can pop up easily in a bag, so that's a downside. It was released in 1988 and was pretty much the latest polaroid camera around at the time of twin peaks in 1989. So here is my first test shot with it..with slightly expired and x-rayed film, but it works!

cherry pie day.

February 20th was cherry pie day. In Twin Peaks they only eat cherry pie. I got the "welcome to twin peaks" book on ebay earlier this month (oh it is the cutest little book-i love it) and thought i would make the cherry pie from the recipe in that book. My first cherry pie ever, and so i did for cherry pie day! It is a pretty simple recipe that only requires a few small preparations like keeping it in the refridgerator over night etc. I also had to translate it to swedish and therefore it's not entirely american made, and cherries are not in season right now, so overall i had to work with what i got. But cake or dinner pie, it is fun! what's your favorite pie?

The computer nerd in me is h-a-p-p-y. Some dude threw this together + a manual, to all twin peaks/video game fans happiness. Special Agent Cooper needs help to escape the black lodge. And yes, it is difficult but lovely too. I only get to 1000 scores. Here are some screenshots of my play:

I was tagged today with a My Favourite Things of 2012 tag from sweet Rhianne, over at fortheeasilydistracted.com. She's one of my favorite bloggers, so i'm very happy i was chosen! I like these questions too because they really suit my 2012..! ok here goes..

• Favourite Makeup – I went on what felt like a crazy shopping spree and got lots of Maybelline lipsticks in america. they are my favorites. I ended up using "Feel pink" most of the time, i really like that one on me, it's a good every-day lipstick and that's the one i always have in my purse.

• Favourite Book – Definitely Bram Stoker's "Dracula" i read during the summer. I also started on "the vampire Lestat" by Anne Rice, and oh my, that one is beautiful too.. i don't want it to end!

• Favourite Album – Lana Del Rey's "paradise edition" and Julee Cruise's "falling into the night". great stuff.

• One thing that I’m grateful for – my life and the people in it.

• Greatest Challenge – the transition from being a horse-person to a person without horses.

• What are you looking forward to in 2013? – finishing my Master's degree is a big one!

I've posted this on flickr long ago but never here, and it's one of my favorites.

shopping in my own closet..

i had completely forgotten about this vintage Lotta corps blouse, so i was quite excited to find it. it has the three crowns on the buttons and i love this old pale blue color. this is my spring color this year. I want to knit a 1940's cardigan in pale old mint green to go with it. that's my favorite decade right now. everything was very much home made in those days, and i like that and want to be better at it.

I've moved around in the header as you can see, and i will keep it for a while to see if i like it. I've also updated a few trips from last year.. pompeii, herculaneum and gotland. I've been sick on and off this month, so i have a few posts waiting, reviews of last year and so on. soon!
